Family Fun (5 - 10 yrs): Greek Myths with Vicki Psarias-Broadbent

Find out about the Ancient Greeks and how myths helped them make sense of the world around them, nature and relationships, as well as carrying warnings and lessons for life. Travel on incredible journeys and experience weird and wonderful adventures alongside Gods and mortals. Learn how Greek myths have inspired artists, writers, musicians, film directors for centuries – including Frederic, Lord Leighton himself.
This is a fun and creative workshop where families will also listen to stories read by author Vicki Psarias-Broadbent from her book ‘Greek Myths, Folktales and Legends’ (Scholastic), create their own Greek myth retelling and explore Leighton House looking signs of the Ancient Greek world of storytelling.
Useful Information
- Family Fun workshops are designed for primary school children, age 5-10 years old.
- To avoid disappointment, please do not book tickets for children / siblings under 5, as they will not be able to participate. Additional family members accompanying younger siblings are welcome to enjoy our café and garden during the workshop.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult during the workshop - workshops are not drop-off and the accompanying adult must stay with their child.
- The 60-minute workshop with Vicki Psarias-Broadbent in the Leighton House Learning Centre will be followed by a special 30-minute Greek Myths trail in the historic house.
- To avoid disappointment and disruption to other families, please arrive on time. Arrivals over 15 minutes after the start time will not be able to join the workshop.
- Accompanying adults (1x per child) come for free and admission to the historic house is included in the ticket price.
Meet Vicki Psarias-Broadbent
Vicki Psarias-Broadbent is a bestselling author and a multi-award-winning screenwriter, TV director, and blogger. Her funny, fresh approach to life and work as a mum has brought her a vast and loyal fan base on her social media platform Honest Mum.
