Mindful Looking at Leighton's Landscapes
Wednesday 29 January 2025, 7 - 9pm; doors open at 6:30pm
Take a restorative journey through the painted landscape in this evening event created by Limina Collective, experts in the wellbeing benefits of looking at art with mindfulness.
You’ll be guided to engage closely with Leighton and Landscape: Impressions from Nature through sustained looking: noticing small details, taking in colours, and exploring the sense of light and space. Moving with mindfulness through the building, you’ll be introduced to tools for supporting wellness in everyday life, by encouraging small moments of connection with art.
Please note that there will be a paid bar open through the evening.
Meet Limina Collective
Through guided workshops, audio recordings and videos, Limina Collective (Karly Allen and Lucia van der Drift) contributes to the emerging international field of mindfulness in museums. Karly and Lucia founded the Collective in 2018 to explore the interrelationship of mindfulness and art observation. They have devised projects for the National Gallery, Manchester Art Gallery, Royal Collection and V&A, among others.
