Climate Change Week: Seed sculptures in Leighton's garden
Friday 27 June 2025, 1 - 4pm, drop-in workshop
Join us in Leighton House garden for a free, drop-in workshop where we will create sculptural seed bombs, made out of clay and pollinator-friendly seeds. Take inspiration from the sculptural forms and decorative arts of Leighton House or the natural beauty of the garden.
Take your sculptural seed bomb home, do some guerrilla gardening or leave it on display in the Leighton House garden. This workshop is a relaxed and environmentally friendly way to experience working with clay. As the unfired sculptures break down and seeds germinate and grow, they will create habitats and food sources to benefit insects and other creatures.
The workshop is part of Kensington and Chelsea Council's initiatives to mark Climate Change Week.
Useful information:
- This is a free, drop in event but registration in advance is encouraged.
- We suggest allowing at least 15 minutes for the workshop activity.
- Please note that the workshop will take place in the garden at Leighton House. In the event of unsuitable weather, the workshop will be cancelled and participants will be notified.
- Please note access to the historic house and current exhibition is not included. Please buy an admission ticket if you would like to visit.
