Family Fun: Drawing from Life

Saturday 6 December 2025, 11am-12:30pm and 2:30pm-4pm

Join us for a special family-friendly life drawing workshop to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

In this clothed, life-drawing class, children and parents will be invited to celebrate disability and difference through creative exploration, guided drawing prompts, and meaningful conversations. Children will learn figure drawing in a supportive, playful space, be inspired by a model who proudly represents disability and identity, and build confidence in self-expression and observation skills. Parents and carers will engage in shared creativity with their child, support open conversations around inclusivity and body positivity and experience mindful drawing that supports wellbeing for all ages.

Useful Information:

  • The Family Fun workshops are designed for primary school children, age 5-10 years old.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult during the workshop - workshops are not drop-off and the accompanying adult must stay with their child.
  • To avoid disappointment, please do not book tickets for children / siblings under 5, as they will not be able to participate. Additional family members accompanying younger siblings are welcome to enjoy our café and garden during the workshop.
  • The workshops will take place in the Leighton's studio during opening hours and the room will be open for museum visitors.
  • Accompanying adults (1x per child) come for free and admission to the historic house is included in the ticket price.
