Drink and Draw: Athlete Wrestling with a Python

Wednesday 16 July 2025, 7 - 9pm, doors open at 6:30pm

Delve into the world of one of Frederic Leighton's most celebrated sculpture,  Athlete wrestling with a Python and translate its dynamic energy and powerful forms into your own drawings.

This workshop explores the human figure in motion, focusing on the interplay of muscle, tension, and movement. The evening will include guided tutoring by The 2B Or Not 2B Collective , focusing on gesture and shading, and extended poses for in-depth study of movement and energy.

Please note that the original sculpture is not on display at Leighton House but participants will be able to find inspiration from the various casts on display, included a recently commissioned bronze cast (finished in white) situated in the museum's new wing.
